Guy_H on this forum sells the APR one, or Ian from Rennenhaus sells the Neuspeed one, which is what I have, or you could order directly from the US.

Also, the diaphragm in the diverter valve is prone to tearing, more so once you crank up the boost with an ECU reflash. This results in a loss of boost. You can either stick with the VW one and get it replaced under warranty if / when it blows, or look at an aftermarket alternative such as the Forge one if, like me, you would prefer to avoid the dealer as much as possible. Rennenhaus also sell these, but I bought mine a bit cheaper direct from the US.

Provided you don't let on that you've flashed the ECU, free at the dealership if you keep the factory original. The Forge valve was about $250 US from memory, I installed it myself.

            Chardy,

Trial the trial program on your car first - Its free from APR / Oettinger (Oettinger also has a written engine / drivetrain warranty) and I think Revo does as well.

Not sure on trials from the other brands.

Peak HP & Torque may be similar on most of the spec sheets, but how the car is programmed for smoothness is the secret (time taken to get the tune to do what you want).

Also look at future upgrades - you may never want to go any faster, but if you do, certainly APR & Oettinger have developed in house: Exhausts, intercoolers, fuel pumps, larger turbo kits - so you can satisfy your thirst for more power from 188kw to over 300kw.

A customer emailled me this link this morning :

Suspension Comparison: Neuspeed Sport Springs –v- Eibach ProKit springs The aim: This test involves putting too very similar suspension packages through their pace back to back on real Australian roadways. In this case it’s the newly released Neuspeed ProCup Kit + Neuspeed Tubular (hollow)...

From someone who has had a chance to drive different software installed in GTi's. - price is important, but its a nice quality, European car you have - choose the best software for it.

(FYI, we import & sell APR / Oettinger, so we are biased )

That should be done with the chips to tell you the truth, get the same car flash with the different programs from different companies on the same dyno and then discuss and results would be right there, end discussion!

Good on him for doing that R&D FTW

Looks like I am tossing up between APR and Revo now, hopefully I can get to test the both before my final choice.

                Thanks for the help guys.

Hi Chardy, if you aren't in a big hurry you might want to consider coming along on a MKV cruise to Bendigo on March 1st. There will be owners there with Revo & Giac. Not sure if anyone who is going has APR. http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38142
I think Diverter Valves are something like $80 for the standard one so you could replace a few of them for the price of a Forge valve although I haven't heard of any correlation between particular tunes and DVs going. A standard DV will eventually fail with a flashed GTI.

I have my brothers bucks party on the 1st otherwise I would love to come - i've already caused massive issues in the family by telling him I can't be his Best Man (or even make it to his wedding) as he has scheduled his wedding day on the same day as my baseball Grand Final.... so I really can't miss the bucks party!!!!!

can anyone tell me more about Giac (how much, pros and cons)

I did about 30,000 kms with the original DV and the flash. Before I headed up to NSW at christmas I replaced it as a matter of course, with a stock one.
                      Cheers, Andrew

The APR that I drove doesnt really feel that torquey - out of Revo / APR / Giac - which one gives you the biggest kick in the ass?

At the end of all this I will be able to give a great run-down on all 4 I imagine!!!

You have answered your original question saying you didnt think that APR was very torquey.
I and 99% of all the APR fitted people here are more than happy with our choice. I am 110% happy with the power delivery, torque and fuel consumption!

cool - I don't want anyone to think I am bagging any of the upgrades, just trying to find out what I think might be best for myself.

A few people in sydney and melbourne originally had apr and than switched to giac and never complained.

reason why they switched was they complained about issues with apr and were subsequently told it was faults with their car.
