  • Replacing PCV

I am going to replace the original PCV on my 2006 GTI and was about to buy the revision 'P' #06F129101P part. Will I need the new breather hose as well because it's a newer revision? ECSTuning is saying I'd need 06F103215B part but I can't find any more information on this.

    Thanks

I'd highly recommend using the BSH PVC blocker. In my experience even the new "revised" PVC's still manage to blow.

Yeah, I looked into that but I'd need the catch can (stage 2) installed right? Otherwise blow-by would go back into turbo and exhaust which isn't good.

Also, it seems much more $$ and labour to do that over just getting an OEM PVC and installing it myself.

the BSH PCV revamp kit routes PCV gasses back into the intake tract the same as with the OEM PCV Valve in place. The only difference is that the Valve is removed and PCV gasses arent directed into the intake manifold under vacuum.

We have a shipment on the way which will hopefully be here next week. The current price is $139inc which should be similar if not cheaper than replacing with the factory item.
        BSH Bulletproof PCV Revamp [30306001] - $139.00 : Dub Ad·dic·tion [duhb uh-dik-shuhn]

Labour is pretty much the same as replacing the oem valve. We have sold over 100 of these kits over the years and never had a problem.

Thanks for that info Tim. So a catch can is not necessary and it's legal without it?

Yea catch can is not necessary. I got my kit from Tim a while back and it's worth every cent. However, the advantage of the catch can is it helps reduce carbon build up in your intake manifold. Performance wise the BSH Revamp kit is the way to go
