  • Weird suspension issue after lowering...

Hey all, I am having a slight issue with my suspension setup in my Mk5 Jetta. I just recently installed a set of tein S-Tech lowering springs, all is well in the front end of the car however I am having a slight issue in the rear end of the car. I tested the suspension by putting the rear end of the car on floor stands, and then I would jack up on the lower control arm where the rear spring goes, My drivers side suspension moves freely, with or without the shock& spring in, I can fully compress the shock without the car lifting off the floorstand, doing the same on the the passengers side and the suspension seems to bind up real quick & the car lifts off the floor stand. I noticed that the car had a 1" ride difference from passengers side to drivers side a day after having this setup installed, so thats when I started doing the tests to see what was going on. I have tried all I can think of, anyone else ever experience anything like this? Could the alignment be that far out that its causing that side of the car to bind up?
    Thanks!

Does the sway bar have a broken link, if you remove the spring and sway link on the left, will the arm move freely, is the shock on the right dead. Hard to say without being there.

Hmm no the sway bar pivots fine at the ball joints on both sides of the car. The shocks are fine. I removed them to test them and they both retract and expand find & at the same rates.

I took the springs and shocks out and the suspension still binds up on the right over the left side.

The left side of the car is 1" lower than the right, I even swapped springs from side to side same results. All I want is to get the sides relatively level. Even if it means moding something. Cause I can't see what's causing the issue.

Photos showing the height difference. First photo is the left side, second is the right
