  • Rear Headrests - Golf Comfortline - removable or not

According to the Owners Manual the 2 outside head rests can be removed to facilitate among other things folding the rear seats down fully. Simply push the button and pull the headrest to remove the head rest posts from the rear of the seat.
Not on mine. They extend out fully but seems like they are locked in somehow, and cannot be removed.
Am I missing something here or are these not actually removable??
Real pain, the kids' booster seats have their own inbuilt head restraints, and even with the fully extended head rests in place it is not possible to fit the booster seat flush against the back part of the rear seat.
And in the case that these are non-removable how do you gain access to the back of the rear seat to "unlock" the head rests?
Any advice gladly appreciated - I am not too keen to have to consign hundreds of dollars worth of booster seats to the scrap heap!!

I can't remember exactly but I think there is a tiny little slot on the other base (other side to where your hold the release to move the headrest)

Pretty sure you put a flat head screw driver in that and it will release.

Ill have a look in mine tomorrow if I remember.

Yep - small screwdriver required to remove them - right PITA really.

Funny, my central rear headrest requires the old screw driver in the hole trick but my regular side ones come right out. either way, have a look at the actual plastic slide section that the posts slide into and if you see a small hole or slot ( about 2mm square ) then stick something in there like a small screw driver or a tiny allen key and see if they come out.
