We did around 250k's including a couple of stops in Brisbane to visit some fellow forum members. We filled the tank at Sunnybank on the south side of Brisbane. So far we have done 146k's since then and the distance to empty is showing 1,020 k's which is quite mad. If is like my Polo it will fall faster towards the end of the tank. Although it did Terranora to Sunnybank with the distance to empty dropping from 160k's to 60k's for the journey which coincidentally was actually around 117k's. Average so far is 5l/100 according to the trip computer. So far I am quite impressed and what's even better as my wife (it was bought for her) loves it too.
The computer will be optomistic as we only get 5.1 out of the Polo on a trip so I doubt that the Jetta will really get that. The Passat got 5.9 on the same trip as the Polo so will be more on short trips in both. Both were very careful consumption tests, not going on the MFD readings which were different.

You do realise that the MFD readings for the trip computer can be adjusted with VCDS? I adjusted mine dead-on with the stock hoops & then re-adjusted when I fitted the over-diameter units I have at the moment. IIRC, I even found an equation to work out what the amount of adjustment should be so that I got it right the first go. Recommended mod for the anal retentive. 4 stars from Margaret.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

I agree Brad, I've seen a few tidy Octavias as of late - here's hoping something good appears soon - looking forward to it.

Jimmy I'll be in touch soon mate- a little sleep-deprived at the moment - should hopefully be good timing re your return to work.
