  • Update on wipers for gt sport golf

Made some enquiries at the dealers ( McGraths ) Liverpool, there are wiper
blade inserts available without buying the complete wiper arm, the kit includes new end caps as well as new blades.
Hope this fixes the noisy wiper problem.

My wife complained on the weekend about noisy windscreen wipers on her GT Sport but I thought she was making this up. I washed her car and tried out the wipers and thought they were just fine, no noise but she swears that when it was raining her in Perth last week that they made a really bad sound and seemed to hop or jump on the windscreen.

I guess was right now and will go to dealer and get replacement blades, cheers for the info.

Guy's why are you purchasing new wiper blades for new cars,
Shorly this should be rectified under warranty.
      Have I missed something here.

Are'nt wiper blades in the same category as brake pads.
          i.e. Not covered by warranty.

Wiper rubbers are a wear & tear item NOT WARRANTY

^Yes. The manufacturer can't control road surface contamination and the amount fo use you give the wipers. Hell, some people run their wipers while dry or when the screen is dirt covered. Why should VW warrant that? Should they warrant stone chips in paint as well? What about cracked windscreens from road debris? Hey, you know what else they should warrant - tyre wear. Surely you can't go through a set of tyres in a month. It must be the cars fault!

ye mine have been noisy for a while now, i just dont see how they can wear out so quick they must be a poor design. ive heard that it also could be of an uneven windscreen which i really did not want to believe.
let us know if your problem is fixed after a new pair of blades.

I think it stinks really but what are you going to do about it. These little things are annoying and demonstate to me that VW still have plenty of quality issues with there various manufacturing plants across the globe.

In addition to the wiper blade problem, my wifes car has had the GT Sport badge fall off her car when she washed it last week. The badge is a friction fit rather than glued on the grill. Others may want to look at their badge before someone pinches it or it falls off. There also several imperfections in the paint and some poor stitching on the leather seats that we are going to have the dealership address this week. All in all not a great start for my wife but if the truth be told I wanted her to buy a Subaru!

Well... i don't think it's a VW quality issue or i'd be having the same problem on the R by now. The wipers started to squeek, but i cleaned them and all was good again.
