power cut out

Hi Guys

i have been having troubles with my car of late, anytime i start to get over 100km/h my car stops accelerating (cant overtake anyone on the highway atm because of it) it first happened when at the drags i hit about 150 and then just stopped accelerating, revs were still there but just no go, now as soon as i go anywhere near 120-130 same thing happens, i had the engine/exhaust light come on a few times before disappearing again a short time later, has anyone else had a problem like this?

when this happens if i accelerate my speed stays where is it so say im doing 120 i can accelerate, my boost gauge shows boost at 0 but i can maintain the speed of 120km/h and the revs stay where they are

I was thinking that this sounds like a boost leak. Easist way to fix a boost leak? Remove anything you've done yourself (the gauge...)
Have you got access to a Vagcom cable? The CEL will be recorded in the error log - probably with an error code.

Try a new accelerator pedal. (or try someone elses first).

i may have someone with a vagcom cable ill see if he is available, the gauge was installed after all this started happening, ill have a look into this abit further

I really dont think its a boost leak as ive got boost at lower speeds and everything seems fine, if it was a leak the problem would be about constantly, and accelerator pedal is fine as when I do accelerate it registers and changes down a gear as it would normally to accelerate
