GTi/R32 Shifter

Hi All,
I am now 1300 km into my Jetta and the grin is still on my face. The car is driving really well. Had a minor glitch with the BT device which VW repalced for me in 30 mins yesterday so all good again.

I wanted to know if anyone here knows if the DSG Shifter knob/Lever on the Jetta (or Golf) can be replaced with the awesome looking GTi/R32 shifter knob? Its not a biggy but the GTi/R32 shifter looks wicked and I would love to have that in my jetta if possible.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Everyone my Girlfriend has spoken to so far about changing it says no.

BUT...

She did have the VW big-shots at a conference the other night and they said "Sure no problem, give us a call and we'll send you one"

Now I know that they can be changed because the attachment is the same, it's just a case of getting one from VW.

I'm also interested in changing mine to the R32 DSG knob.
Bit pricey though at US$239 just for a knob.!!!

Thanks for the responses people. The TMTUNING website is awesome but as has been said I did not think the shifter know would be so pricey.

Any idea if these things can be bought locally anywhere (Except VWA)?
