  • Picking my GTI up at 16:30

I narrowed it down to the 5D GTI-DSG in 2 weeks of test driving the usual hot hatches, then test drove it on the Gold Coast. Wanted the GTI, with DSG, White - no extras (had a 40K budget initially). I would have to wait three months they said but they sourced one with 150Klms (a demo) with rear parking sensors - October build - not what I wanted but I did not want to wait. Eventually paid $41,350. Paid for it Thursday last week, take delivery today at 16:30. Cant wait. My mate has one in the UK with a few mods. I'm interested in a flash at some point - but not for a while. The wife now also wants a new car so I had to get her a new Prado - and guess what - no wait there either. Someone else changed their order to a landcruiser 200 so i took theirs over - get that on 11th Feb - and my mate ordered his Prado in October and gets his the same day. What luck! Am I right that the Euro plates fit the front much better ?

      congrats! welcome.

if i had euro plates id put the tiny one usually for the front, on the back. and the big one for the back, on the front. either that or id say that i lost the plates and put a tiny one on the front and back

I don't think the tiny ones are legal on the back.

              Hi VW-Golf-GTI,

I assume if you test drove in QLD then you will be registering it in QLD?

if so and you are getting QLD Euro plates both the front and rear are the same size and they fit perfectly on the car. not like the NSW ones...

look at some of the photos on this link:

schneller, as far as I know: no.. but Steve has a manual car with bluefin... and Brissy GTI has APR - i'm hoping to compare the two chips with a bit of their help :) as I'm interested in bluefin too..

              ..schneller..

I dont seem to have that 'cutout' on the numberplate on my new GTI - so it looks like the front small ones will be fine. Is this a my08 thing ?
