  • 2010 Jetta 1.6 tDI with DSG 120,000 K service

My wife took the car for its 120,000 k service. It was reported that the original battery performance was getting a bit "ordinary". Varta as fittede new. My wife was told by the service consultant that it may just need "charging". It had been driven over 100k to do the service and I imagine by the time it arrived at the workshop it would have been as charged as it possibly could be.
Am I wrong to assume this?
One thing I was not aware of is that when parked, if the doors are left unlocked, there is a larger drain on the battery than if the car is locked. At home in the farm barn, next to the the guard dog , with access through a bull paddock; the car is never locked.

yes the battery will have charged in that time and yes it will drain abit more not locked but the consumers will eventually shut down and sleep even when not locked... battery on them usually last 3/4 years and need a good strong battery.. ..VDUB..
