  • 4 year/60 k service

    Hi there,

My wife got her MKV GTI MY09 60k service today. The car has on 35K and the dealer did not do a DSG service "due to low KMS" as stated on the service report. I thought it was a must at this point? Am I right, what are your experiences?

    Thanks in advance...

Neither the European nor Australian service schedule specifies a time interval - only a distance interval of 60 000 km.

But whether you want the DSG service performed or not is completely up to you.

What did they charge you for the service because I had the same done less the DSG ?

The major time interval item on a MKV that is 4 yrs old is the timing belt, did they mention that this would need replacing soon?

Yes, it's every 105 000 km or 7 years in Australia.

Or every 180 000 km (!) in Europe for Golf Mk5 models with a 2.0 l petrol engine.

130,000 is about the absolute limit from what I've seen with them.
