  • price for a manual gt sport

    hi,
months ago i negotiated a deal for a dsg/cw/gt sport 1.4 at a price of 38400. I was transferred abroad for the past few months. i am now back in sydney and i wanna go for a manual instead. i didnt choose any factory options. My questions is am i going to get a price for the manual=38400-Price of DSG? Can anybody tell me the price that you paid for your gt sport model?thanks a lot

chatswood classic cars. not the best to deal with. if you do deal with them have a clause written into the contract about a delivery date and being able to pull out of the sale if the car isnt there by that date. if id recommend a dealer it'd be mc'carrolls vw hornsby. GL!

well the price i neogotiated for my GT Sport TSI DSG was 38,500 include dealer delivery, rego etc. with options of IPOD jack, Reverse Sensor, plastic protective floor mats, boot protector mats and 3 set of keys. However got it down to 38,000 when dealer failed to deliver on the date specified on contract (by threatening to goto another dealership).
So i think you could do alot more better than 38,400 Manual GT-Sport TSI with no factory options. you should be looking at something closer to the RRP because i am sure u can haggle your way out of paying for the dealer delivery and rego etc. if not i am sure there are plenty of other VW dealership who would like your business.

In my opinion go see Mark Diamond at Chatswood Classic Cars, you wont do a better deal than with him. Trust me he gave me a price straight up and NO other dealer in sydney would match it or come close and he did say if someone did he would match it without question. Though do make sure you see Mark @ Chatswood Classic the other sales guys leave a lot to be desired.

I paid $39,800 for a DSG GT with sunroof, tint, mats, & iPod - drive away (reg & Stamp Duty).

Got it through Private Fleet - they found it at South Yarra VW.

With the dollar being even stronger than when I bought this time last year, and with the end of financial year looming, you should be able to better what I paid for the newer GT Sport. I suggest you do your homework and leave your Signing Day to as late in the month as possible - various dealers will have various targets that they will have to meet and may 'take a bath' on your sale in order to hit a target. Don't forget that the dealer's next shipment's price may vary a few percent depending on their volumes from the previous month. That can be an amount far in excess of what they offer you in discount.

If you don't go the Private Fleet &c route, make sure you have 2, 3, or 4 dealers all bidding for your business. Depending on their individual sales targets, their price to you will vary wildly.

                      Good luck

Reading the replies in this thread hurts...

I got the original GT back in mid '07 for 38500 drive away.

That's a manual in reflex silver and some floor mats.

I did need a car quick and I had delivery in 2 weeks (the car was with another dealer).

FYI RRP on the road for that is $39,803

                          Are you for hire !!!!!!!!!

I have seen some pretty heavy discounting on the TSI GTs in the last few weeks around Sydney.

Well, I did have a manufacturer discount...the dealer did try to get a few hundred bucks off from me, but I refused to budge. On top of that, the dealer gave me a trade in price for my 2004 car that was within the median of a private sale price (according to RedBook). And, I got the dealer to guarantee in writing, its trade-in price 3 months into the future (as I had to wait 3 months for my new car).

I then also refused to be swayed to but any of their tints, protectors, etc.

I believe that you would be able to get better deals even now, with the end of financial year coming round the corner.
