Golf Mk5 Questions

Hey Everyone,

I've migrated down from the Mk.7 forums down to the Mk.5. What a great car you guys talk about in this area. I'm thinking of buying myself a Mk.5 as my first car, what should I look out for, what are the best models if I'm looking to spend around 10k? Oh and can you put the front headrests from the Mk.6 into the front seats of the Mk.5. I much prefer the look of the ones in the Mk.6...

If you can, try to get an MY08 (10th digit of VIN is 8 ) model as they have the later CAN gateway (if fitting later model stereos, etc) and full height MFD (not sure if that is for all nodels) which means the user can configure things that earlier versions required a dealer or a VCDS to do.
