I just got a quote for an MY08 R32 with DSG, electric drivers seat, reversing sensors, sunroof.

$70k onroad give or take a few dollars.

If I were you, I'd shop around. I get a fleet discount through the company I work for but I'm sure you could get a much better price than $70k with those options.

You should try to squeeze more out of the dealer.

p/s mats are suppose to be free (check the specs for 2008 jetta). dont get the optional ones unless you really want a mat VW logo on it! dont fall for the trap!.

That was in August 07 and it came as an 08 spec (MP3, updated Trim etc)

So you could get a pacific for the same price minus the cost of parking, fogs and ESP, but they will try and get you on Climatronic and "sport" seats

I got about a $9k fleet discount. If you work at a largish company, enquire as to whether they have a deal set up with Volkswagen. I work for a large company and Volkswagen seem to give the best fleet discounts of all the documented dealers.

Without the fleet discount, I would have bargained the price down (particularly dealer delivery which is ~$3000? It's listed as $900 on my quote being one of the perks of fleet discount) but was pretty happy with the price so I didn't try and dance with the salesperson.

I reckon you could shave a few thou off your quote without too much drama.
