  • How much did you pay for your Jetta/Golf?

Got a mate that will be looking for one shorty and we're wondering what sort of money people are paying for them.

Will be probably looking at either Jetta/Golf(2L TDI) FSI manual or TDI manual (But any will do)

    Cheers,
    Dave

Fleet was 10% off list (options not discounted) plus reduced stamp duty afaik, My car is the spec u are after then, DSG, Cloth, Metallic and sunroof. same car full list was $47,450 on road. It seems to be pretty easy to qualify for the fleet discounts too so long as your employer is of a decent size.

                  First post, so hi everyone.

In response to the original poster, I would seriously consider using a car broker, as they saved me about $4,400 off the retail price of the car.

This is what I got and the price FYI.

2007 VW Golf GTI (3 Door):
                  *Black Magic
                  *DSG
                  *Leather
                  *Sat Nav
                  *Parking Sensors

                  $47,849 Drive Away.

These are the guys I used www.privatefleet.com.au they got me a fleet discount and looked after everything for me, I couldn't recommend them highly enough. Didn't have to bargain with car dealers to get the price down, they did it all for me.

You also get other benefits which are listed on the site I posted above.

I hope that helps and good luck with things.

                      Some great tips.

As another newbie about to enter the market, can anyone recommend a decent dealer in SE QLD? Happy to accept PM's, but the exceptionally poor service I recieved from my Ford dealer has really made the decision to jump across a very easy one.

I am aware that VW in general seems to be a bit slack from what I read on here, but there are ALWAYS better and worse dealers...
                      Certainly the case with Ford.

This factor actually matters to me more than the purchase price...within reasonable limits!

I've had a good experience with Daniel at Hwy VW (near Ikea), and a bad experience at Austral VW at Newstead. Other people have had the exact opposite. Check them out for yourself and see what you think.

You might get a ripper of a deal ATM with the Motor Show on too.

Totally agree.... or talk to Robert at Hwy Auto Group VW (Sales Manager), very nice and helpful. Sadly the Sales Rep. who sold me the car has already left the company.
I also had a bad experience at Austral VW, I still remember that when I was so excited inside their showroom, they did not invite me for a test drive, finally I brought my GTI one week after at Hwy VW.

I found Austral to be very ordinary but Highway gave me the worst experience I've ever had with a car dealer in my life. It was just awful - they were arrogant, rude, disorganised and ill-informed.

The only really professional VW dealer I found was Ian Boettcher Motors at Ipswich. Definitely worth driving the extra kilometres from BrisVegas. Got some great advice and a very good deal on my Jetta TDI. I've also heard good things about the Toowoomba dealer.
