Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hey Guys,

Got my GTI yesterday! Wooo its so awesome but already curious about something....

i only noticed this last night when it was really quiet, i put my key into the ignition and turned once and all of a sudden this clicking noise started in the glove box area... my friend tried looking in the dash through the glovebox to see if he could see anything but couldnt.... and so i turned the car off again and it stopped.... i turned it on again to get indicator lights up and it start again.... if i turn on the engine its there to... u cant hear it aswell when ur driving but when the car is off and in just aux power mode you can hear it well.... sounds like a time bomb kinda sound...

Stepper motors for your A/C mate . When the Ign is on rest(off) the stepper motors return to their stop position. When the AC ecu gets power the stepper motors return to there postions set by the ecu, and they click click click till they rest at their position.
    Does this make sense???
