Golf GTI 05 - HID/Xenon

Hey Guys,

im new here and so im not sure if this is the right section to post in... but ive got a questions about a GTI

Im getting my first GTI tomorrow woo, its an 2005 model still with new car warranty on it and looks imaculate with 30,000 km on it... im pretty excited.. anyways to the point

I have wanted a car with Xenon's since my dad got them in his car, the quality of light is just so much better and on dark roads at night you can see a lot more. The GTI im getting doesnt have Xenons and such doesnt have Projector Tubes installed. What would happen if i got a HID kit installed by a local shop here in adelaide, such as 'Car Toys' or got one of ebay and got them to install it?

Would it be legal or would i get done? also without the projector tubes, would the light just not be as concentrated? as in would you still be able to see?

Any info of anyone installing aftermarket HID's/Xenon kits would be awesome!

welcome to the forum! great car you're getting. the halogen lamps really are pretty good... obviously nothing compared to xenons but more than adequate.

i've always wanted a waterproof heat sensing camera in the front bumper connected to an in-dash screen to be able to see everything for km's in front

what city you in? hit up a cruise with your new baby.

any mods planned to it?

Im in Adelaide, yea im gonna take a cruise down to victor harbour *beach town* here about 1.5 hours south....

yea i havent really thought of many other mods, Xenons is just something i really wanted. you guys know of any places that sell VW headlamps with projectors?

i have MTEC HID's fitted with FK angle lights that have the projectors
