Last december I had an accident where parts of the front of the car needed to be replaced - mostly all the plastic parts - Grill, black plastic supports, lip etc...; however, also the bonnet and two side panels becuase they were slightly dented. Now since having this done and getting the car back I have not been too happy with the quality of the work and I am wondering if I could get another oppinion from you guys to:

    A) See if it has been done properly
    B) See if what they are telling me about current problems I am having is true

    A) Please see the picture below - This is what the bonnet looks like now, it is not flush with the rest of the car and makes a whistling noise when you drive... I was told by the assesor he cannot see what I am talking about from this picture... I think its pretty obvious

    B) Whenever I have the AC running and I pull up to the traffic lights and the car goes into idle, I get an extremly loud mechanical sound in the cabin... (not sure if its the compressor), this stops as soon as I press the "ECON" button. I also have a problem when maybe once ever 4-5 light stops the AC will not kick over and the air coming from the vents gets very very humid and warm until I start driving again or I switch on and off the AC....
    > Along with this I got a big puddle of water under my car when I tested it in the garage.. not sure if this is related??

Any help would be much appriciated..

    Thanks

Water under the car if clear proves the aircon IS working A better pic of the bonnet may help Hard to tell what that one is. Maybe an adjustment of the bonnet stops may help Dont know about the noise

In regards to water and the AC.... why is it leaking..? Shouldnt it be a closed system?

All aircons create condensation which runs out a drain under the car A refrigerator does the same but is evaporated by draining into a tray around the compressor and the heat dissipates it If its clear water it will be aircon Radiator water will be the colour of the additive Its not "leaking" its "Draining"
Your car would have done it since new as do all cars with aircon You have just got super aware after the prang
Looks like the bonnet needs to be adjusted on the hinge Nothing major just a slack worker You could loosen the bolts slightly and push it down gently to where it should be.
Otherwise it could be the hinge is bent and should have been replaced. Was the bonnet pushed up at the back in the smash

Thanks for the info re the Aircon -

The bonnet was cracked / paint cracked along the front after the crash, it was not bent at all and was still flush with the rest of the car. They replaced the whole bonnet with a used one and I assume it has not been attached properly as you say?

In regards to the aircon again - I have always had a loud noise in the cabin when its idling anyway - I always assumed it was the compressor - it is there until I put the AC into ECON mode or turn it off completely. If I turn it back on it comes back after about 5-10 minutes - Not sure what it is... I have uploaded an audio clip below that I took with my phone - Its the noise and then i raise the RPM's a bit to show that it doesnt go away and that its still there... any one else have this? Is this common?

          Cheers

Couldnt hear anything constructive Could be noisy clutches in compressor Take it to an aircon guy and ask him.
A bit like doing brain surgery over the phone trying to guess on here.

The hinge could still have got bent but would bet what I suggested will work

Who are you insured with ?Most insurance company's give a life time guarantee on repair work , If so you can take it directly to an insurance accessor of that company and get then to check the workman ship, there are large holding insurance places where they put your damage on line and the cheapest one wins [not very good ]your can could end up any where ,
