  • MK5 2.0TDI Servicing Cost 35,000km's

    Hi All,

I purchased my second hand 2.0TDI 6mths ago and are up for my 1st service at 35,000km's.

Just wondering on what cost I am likely up for and what are the normal checks they will perform.

Also does anyone have a recomendation on a dealer they have had a good experience with.

    Thanks.

        Hi,

        Thanks for your quick replies.

Yes I am a little over for the service.

I live in Melbourne North/West side so I am happy to take it where ever I will get the best deal and quality of service.

Only a few things I will need to replace under warranty.

-One is the rear right brake light is fogging up due to water ingress.
        -Passanger footwell shroud has dislodged.
        -Rattle in centre console.

        THanks

If you have your own mechanic go there first.
Otherwise try these two places. Stay away from Vw dealers.

140 is too cheap to do a good job no matter who the mechanic is. the correct oil and filter alone is the best part of 100$. while under warranty be careful.

              Thanks,

I thought it would be more expensive for a 30K service.

Do people think it is better to go to a independant servicer who can complete the service under a log book or a dealer?

Dealers are more expensive but are they worth the extra?

I have heard of the previous 2 places mentioned and have driven past the european cars one a number of times.

              Thanks,

I tried that for our last service, and the servicer picked up a couple of things that he said would have to go back to the dealer for warranty. Turns out he just didn't know how the car works.
Will have second thoughts about going to him next time.
