Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Traded my GTi MK5 for this...

    I got the RRRRR33333222222!!!!!!

Now i know what it means that my smile will stay permanetly!! The noise from the exhaust is bloody F#$%^ fantastic!

The car is alot smoother and flat compare to the GTi. I gave the car a hit at Denlo and I think i may have pissed a mechanic and a customer off not realising how it would react... oh welll.

    Now he are the pics.

Denlo Parramatta have been great and tried to get the car to me ASAP. Havent had a drama with them and thats why I went back to them for my second VW.

Now when is the next GTG.

That's one stunning looking car you got there! I've always thought the R32 was let down a bit aesthetically by the wheels, however, imo those new wheels are fantastic, and perfectly suited to the mkV Golf.

Can anyone shed some light on why, since the release of the MY08 R32, journos and drivers alike seem to have decided that R32 now offers a superior driving/ownership experience to the Gti? Other than the wheels, has anything changed?

Thanks mate, the car is a dream it feels alot different from the gti you could say a heavier feel or more planted with the additional wieght.
No i haven't got them tinted yet but will for sure. I was thinking about Sungard Azure but they are $400 a pop.

When the new car is worth 60k + then window tintint at a total cost of $400 is nothing. It will make the car look better, keep it cooler and protect the leather.

                      You've made the right decision!

Now, change the wheels quickly! They don't do much for the car!

I know I know I just got the car and all day at work I was thinking about what wheels I should get... I just have to say that they are alot better than the 06/07 model wheels. I am looking as I want to check out whats out there. First I am going to put tints, and then installed the gateway 100 from dension as the VW ipod suxs. It shouldn't be marketed as a "Apple IPOD" adapter!! It is so miss leading.

So the search begin on whats rims...

Yeah I don't mind the 06' alloys, you can get a mint for original un-gouged 18' VW alloys, they're quite desirable. You could probably do a straight trade at a wrecker or something even.

Also, if it aint broke, don't fix it. Change the things that would improve your driving experience before anything else, i.e. window tint, stereo etc. And besides you drive on the inside of the car, not out!

Good luck with the ARR 032, thats an un-taken NSW plate if anyone wants it... well its free now hahahaha...

Ok, in my GTi i had a Dension Ice Link + Cradle and it was fantastic.
I had the ability to control my music via the ipod in the cradle.

With the VW Apple IPOD "Adapter" Only the first five play list are used via your preset buttons. You cannot use the ipod to individual select a music. Well thank GAWD that this was thrown in the deal.

The cable is just a cable which transmit your music to your predefined playlist

Guys if you have ordered the VW Ipod adapter "DON'T" get the Dension from the carkitcompany.com.au.

Sorry I may seem harsh but the wool is being pulled over us on this crap option.
