  • rolled GTI to get rid of... any suggestions

    hi,

after stuff up from insurance company, my 07 3 door red GTI which was rolled once has damage, but ultimately a write off, is now in my possession.
I am trying to get rid of it as a whole hopefully.

Can anyone suggest any ideas of how to get the most $$ out of it?? or know anyone who wants a wrecked vehicle?

    PM for photos.

If its modified and the bits are not damaged - part it out

        Sell it to this guy:

        then post some photos.

I'm guessing the airbags would've discharged...
If the answer to the Monty Hall problem was 50/50, the contestant, on average, would win the car 50% of the time simply by sticking with their original guess...but you can only win a one-in-three guessing game 33.33% of the time so it can't be 50/50, can it?

The person asked for suggestions, not for jokes. While you're at it, how about you buy it?

A rolled car won't discharge the airbag unless the sensors are impacted. Don't ask me how I know.

Sell off any aftermarket parts, then I would suggest calling around various wreckers, emailing them pics and details, requesting price offered.

To wreck a car, you need to have time, space, tools and know how.

If you don't know how to pull the car apart - don't bother.
If you don't have space to pull the car apart, or store parts - don't bother.
If you don't have tools (engine crane, etc) - don't bother.
If you don't have any spare time - don't bother.

Selling the car as a whole generally wont net you as much cash as if you wrecked it. But consider the time, space, knowledge you would need to do this.

Another very important factor is how many saleable parts are left on the car. If every panel is bent, every light cracked, and parts of the driveline bent, snapped or out of shape - you wont be able to make the cash off the sale of those parts. In this case, it would probably be better to sell the car to someone who wants to do an engine swap or similar.

Anyway, just my two bob. HTH

Yeh def dont have the space - hence getting rid of it as a whole.
