  • Clunking down to first....again...

    Hey guys,
I know there is a wealth of post about DSG clunking down, etc, and all the mechatronic posts and what not.

However I have had my mechatronics unit replace THREE times, on the last time I actually had my whole transmission replaced.

Four months later and I am getting a huge jolt when breaking down to first.
Say I come to a light and slow down, it feels like a full release, sends my passengers heads forward and even mine.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
Kind of tired of having my car at the dealer all the time,
I mean i have no troubles because its still under warranty, but still... tiresome.

Ridiculous, VW should be (and probably are) very embarrassed.

vraptor. Is your DSG the 6 speed or 7 speed (dry or wet clutches) ? My 7 speed dry cluch mechatronic has been replaced only once under warranty. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones? At 110 K and just under 3 years.

My R32 was doing that a couple of weeks ago.
I just did the DSG reset and calibration using my Ross Tech VCDS cable. All good again
They learn bad habits and need resetting from time to time.
Buy a cable its a good investment ...

I had my 08 R32 in for a service today & had my DSG clunks checked - looks like I'm up for a mechatronic replacement, pending VWA approval.

Extended warranty, though I was told it'd be covered by factory warranty due to the nature of the problem.
