Mine just done over 1000km, and is it necessary to change oil, if so which oil you guys use and is suitable for GTI? Can I ask any garage to change for me, rather than going back to VW and cost me an arm or a leg ...

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

To answer the OP's question, your first service is at 15,000 km per VW's recommendations. There is no free first service. I have the luxury of working in a Toyota dealership, so I threw our GTI up on the hoist at 1,000 km and did a good inspection, and checked tightness on all suspension and chassis bolts/nuts. Also found the shipping rubber spring chocks left in which should've been removed during PDI've decided to do my oil and filter every 7,500 km, using a genuine filter and Castrol Edge 5w/30.
If you want to avoid VW service departments (don't blame you btw), try and get your GTI in with someone who specialises in VW/Audi. There's always guru ex-VW top mechanics who leave dealerships and start their own little thing.

It's a reasonably straightforward DIY.
A mate and I changed the oil on ours at around 6200kms, using Mobil 1 0W-40. The photo below shows plenty of metal shavings left in the drip tray after the old oil was emptied into a container ready for disposal, which may or may not influence your decision...
One thing about the GTI that is much more notiecable than any previous car I've ever owned is that after an oil change it drives so much smoother and seems to accelerate quicker. The increase in speed may be a placebo effect, but the improvement in smoothness is undeniable. Dunno if it is just our car, or common to all, but it is a bit weird all the same I reckon. I had to top up the oil the other day, adding about 1 litre, and even with that small amount there was a noticeable improvement.
