TSi Engine on the Jetta

Hi All, whilst I was at Barloworld Five Dock having a look at the Platinum Grey I noted that it had the TSi Logo on the back. I questioned the dealership as to whether the Jettas now had TSi engines and was told that all petrol engined Jettas (turbo and non turbo) now carry TSi badging even though they are actually fitted with an FSi engine.

Anyone know if there is truth in this statement?

thanks Mikinoz. its sure does sound strange. could this be a sign to indicate the phasing out of the FSi engine if V Dub are no longer making FSi badges?

I recall reading that the 1.8 TSi engine is to replace the FSI in Jetta early 2008 - sounds like VW are getting some practice with the TSi badges prior to the engine change-over!

Its just VWs way of confusing buyers

The only true TSI Twincharger is the 1.4, all others are Turbo only.
