weird noise from dash

hi there anybody have a new golf gt / gti that has noticed a wierd knockin noise coming from the dash can only hear it when idiling at light its only feint dont know if it serious or just wondering if anyone has come across this before and what did u do to fix itcheers

I have that noise in my Jetta, never have worked out what it is but I suspect it is something to do with aircon. There seems to be a pattern to the noise like some process going through a cycle, doesn't seem to be a problem and the CD drowns it out anyway so I just ignore it.

yea i have always noticed that too...dont think its anything too worry about though.

Sound is more noticeable if you have KOEO (key on engine off) with Climate on, I'd say the noise would be the blend door actuators which are used to adjust amount of air from both a/c evaporator and heater core - to level out set temperature to driver (and passenger if in dual mode).

I tend to agree with you, I was concerned when I first heard it but just accept it as part of the package.

I think I've read about a fix for certain Golf fuel lines on the firewall which involved securing them better to stop a tapping noise, could it be this ?

Should I be worried I cant hear any noise at all? I do have a rattle in the dash thou to cure this I just crank up celine dion........
