  • Exhaust question 2.0 TFSI jetta

    Hey guys.

This is my car for reference

I have a issue I wanna have sorted. I have a stock turbo to cat exhaust but after the cat is a 2.5" exhaust with a straight through muffler.

My issue is, I had twin pipes installed.

The car then after 2-2.5k rpm to limit it made an annoying sound. Like an executive commodore accelerating full on. Or blowing through a straw. Or even trying to bring up flem haha.

I went back and got the pipes removed and added a straight 2.5" pipe and tip. Now it sounds good but I want the twin pipe not the single.

So my question is. Would it be the press bend in the twin pipes causing the exhaust gas to compress and sound crap? With the press bend being so close to the end of the exhaust would that also assist in making a bad sound?

Would cutting the press bend off and reinstalling fix that issue?

I find you tend to get a crappy, flappy, farty sounds when the pipes are too big for the engine.
You get much more of a grunt if you have the correct size.

In your case you have gone 2.5in, but then it splits into two. I assume 2 x 2.5in?
I dont think it is an issue with the bends.
The solution may be to get a smaller twim pipe with larger tips at the end.
