Experience in buying a car unseen, particularly a used car?
I flew down to Sydney last Saturday to pick it up. Seller was great, easy to communicate and I paid for MTA to inspect the vehicle before flying down. I got nearly 100 photos, a detailed report and got to speak with the inspector. They're a mobile service.
I had never seen the car until I arrived in Sydney and got off a taxi. I got the seller to take off all the stickers and CF wrap prior to picking it up too. There's a bit of trust involved when buying cars interestate, but this car was great. I'm in Brisbane too

Awesome work, I guess I'll be seeing you drive around as I'm in Brisbane too, are you keeping the carbon look hood on?

Hey, they had a really thick CF wrap on the bonnet, fuel flap and other funny stickers. Had them all removed before I got to pick up the car though. Yep I'll be around Brisbane, but you might find it hard to spot me, since I'm usually only out on weekends and drive something like 7000km a year, haha.
Good luck with your search mate - they're fantastic cars.
I had my R32 up for sale a while ago on carsales.... I was surprised at the amount of people who called and were willing to leave me a deposit on the spot without checking out the vehicle first... The guys who did call were offering me something silly - but still, for all they knew, my car could have been damaged, scratched, write off etc... but they were still willing to give me a deposit... One guy didn't care at all, and wanted me to just put it on a truck and send it to him in nsw....
Pictures are deceiving... when I was purchasing my R32 years ago.. I had a look at some used cars, and found a few that looked great in photos, but when viewing them, I discovered dents, scratches, and all sorts of damage that sellers just don't tell the buyer prior to viewing.

Definitely buyer beware, I rang one (of many) and asked a few times if car is write-off, took a while for seller to respond, but eventually buyer said yes, it was a write-off. Looked fantastic in pics though

Can i ask what condition your car was in when selling, and if you don't mind the asking price?
It was and still is in great condition... has been taken care of very well - no shopping trips, careful where parked, always hand washed etc. I got it with the factory recaro seats as well.. I was selling it a year ago for 26k. The lowest i got offered was 20k, and that was over the phone. I only had one person come and have a look at it who thought it was a 5 door (no idea why or how..) I decided to keep it... but now, I'm considering selling again, because it's a bit of a shame.. it just sits in my garage and hardly gets driven.
