Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 2005 Comfortline Fog light wiring?

I want to fit front fogs to my car and have got the grills and lights, but I cannot find the wiring.
Can anyone tell me if the wiring is tucked into a "safe" location behind the bumper, or should I be able to easily see it when I remove the front grills?
    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

Probably because it isn't there. When I fitted the OEM fogs to mine, I bought the wiring kit from TMTuning. That was the one which gave me full functionality via the Euro switch and indicates bulb outs if and when they happen. You COULD always fit them the old school way if you want.

When did you get the harness from TMTuning?
There appears to be allot of conjecture about what they are up to now. I know on other forums there are allot of people advising to stay away from them.

What did the harness consist of? Was it an OEM harness that you just had to connect to the fuse box, or was it a custom made jobby?
How did it fit to the car? Fuse box on the engine bay or another harness in the engine bay?

I don't really want to go butchering things, and want it to look as OEM as possible.
