      Good service history.
      Funny noises.

-aircon not cooling properly or not operating at all, check operation of all vents in dash for both cold and hot air.
-grating clutch sounds in a 6spd manual, what i assume to be worn gear shift linkages (gear shifter will feel sloppy and makes it hard to change gears when you're giving it a bootful)
-make sure head light levelers still work (is a dial switch on dash to adjust them for load conditions, BiXenon equipped vehicles should do it automatically when you turn headlights on. check that they do this as replacing either bixenon housing or halogen reflector housing is not cheap, you usually have to replace both headlights due to the UV (and acid from car detailers) wear on the plastic (they go yellow).
-wheelbearings, keep an ear out at speeds over 60km/hr for a whoop-whoop or warbling even a rumble from any corner of the car.
-steering grating/grinding noises when parked or driving slowly, including steering getting notchy or tight spots throughout full range of movement.
-regular servicing, if there is any chunky bits underneath the oil cap I would personally walk away. Also if the coolant reservoir in the top left of engine bay is getting brown, i'd also walk away, coolant should be nice and pink.

Turn ESP off and give it a bootful in 1st gear and 2nd gears. Check that it doesn't have any issues with power delivery, it should have very linear smooth acceleration with no flat spots or noticeable lag after initial throttle input after 2500rpm.
