can any one tell me how to reset the service reminder on an 06 mkv TDI 2.0 litre diesel with out taking it to a dealer. $1000 for a 65000k service has pretty much insulted my inteligents.

It's in the car information book usually.
I trust you are going to have it serviced, even if VW don't do it.

I'm presuming you want the service indicator re-set, rather than giving it a rest
Try this
Ignition OFF
Press and hold 0's button on dash (trip meter re-set)
Ignition ON
Release 0's button
Press MIN button for 3 secs
Ignition OFF07 Golf GTI 3 door, Tornado red, 6 speed Manual
Red may be the devils colour, but this car is pure heavenComment

thank you datracer 99 of course I will service it but not at a vw dealer where a cool 1000 dollars bought me oil and filters. While mugs like me pay it they will charge it. But I will try what you have told me and see if that turns the light and alarms off.Comment
