I bought a new Golf 2.0 Tdi from Kloster VW in Newcastle and cannot speak too highly of them. I requested supply fit and wiring of a towbar and trailer brake controller with the car and even though they struck all sorts of problems , (not too many Golfs have trailer brake units fitted!) thy bent over backwards to help us. Loaner cars, even over a weekend, and follow up phone calls. Best dealers I have ever dealt with. John. Port Stephens.

The drama (hopefully) ended yesterday, when I got the car back, exactly one week after checking in for service. I have a feeling that without intervention from VW customer assistance this could well have dragged into January. My impression was that Denlo treated this like any other car brought in for repair, even though it was brand new, and in my hands for less than 24 hours...

Anyway, right now I'm glad I got it back before Christmas. The Bluetooth kit works too now.

After this experience I'm not sure I'll ever buy another VW again. This is of course a totally unfair and biased reaction, but you know - once burnt, ...

I'm hopeful the car will make it up to me. It does drive quite differently from the automatics I've gotten used to. The DSG is definitely not an auto transmission, even though the gears change automatically. I feel there is still a bit of a lag until power kicks in, but I've mostly driven the car in stop-and-go traffic so far.

The 2.5L Subaru boxer's smooth power surge from stand-still is not there anymore, there is something new I have to get used to and become familiar with.

I will most likely annoy you (esp the TSI drivers among you) with stupid questions over the coming weeks...

good luck with the car now hope it is all fixed I still fail to see how it happened. My Passatt had an interesting one, minor compared to yours one of the protective strips on both lhs doors were matt black instead of chrome silver on the right hand side. Needless to say it was fixed (after two week wait) for parts and loaner golf tdi provided. Makes you wonder what dealers do in thier pre delivery checks..
