  • I once had a Golf

For 24 hours, to be precise...

After 4 weeks delay in delivery I finally got a GT last Wednesday. Only to return it the next day. The supercharger was broken and needed to be replaced. On top of that, the dealer fitted Bluetooth kit didn't work, and one of the brake lights failed intermittently.

I'm hoping to get the car back on Tuesday. I'm also hoping that after this false start all will be well...

The Ford Falcons I keep getting from my fleet operator (first to cover the delivery delay, then the repair) haven't missed a beat, even though they drive like sofa lounges...

    Cheers
    Steffen.

Not happy at all about that.
Lets hope that its fixed fast and you have no further problems.

Im interested to know how the car could be delivered with a broken supercharger though.

I"ve still got at least 2.5 months until i get my TDI GT and Im preying it will be perfect in wont cause me greif.

Sounds like the dealer wasn't being terribly thorough.
How hard is it to check those things?

I'm not sure whether the SC was broken from the beginning, or developed a fault during the first 30km of driving...

I found the take-off from stand still a bit hesitant and rough, almost like driving out of a gravel pit. I thought perhaps the DSG clutches needed some bedding in...

The reason I went back to the dealer was a rattling/clattering noise from the engine bay at certain (low) revs under mild acceleration.

I thought the dealership (Denlo in Parramatta) would trip over themselves helping me out with an interim car (till mine was fixed). But they didn't have anything available, and called me Friday afternoon offering me a Hyundai. Thankfully, this is a operating lease through my company, and Orix gave me said Falcon straight away. Otherwise I would have been stuffed

          Cheers
          Steffen.

I'd like to hear their excuses for this rubbish. When you get the survey in the (e)mail, make your thoughts known, because, apparently, their dealer bonuses from VW Australia are dependent on it, hence the need for AC Nielsen to do the research for them. Either that, or make your presence known at the dealer - they'll know either (i) no to mess with a badass, or (ii) they'll get so sick of you that they'll have to do a good job eventually! Good Luck, I've been through it too - read my thread regarding my MFD!

Denlos strikes again!!!!! They should give up selling and servicing motor vehicles full stop. Have never met a single person with a good or satisfying experience from going to Denlo's...

Maybe you should ask for a cash refund of their dealer delivery fee ? After all, Checking your new car is what you paid them for isn't it (that and a car wash)

I think Denlo is just the franchise they operate under, the actual company is Inchcape. They run Chatswood Classic Cars, too.

I'm open for suggestions on where to have the car serviced in the future. ideally either near North Ryde or near Blacktown (NSW). And, a courtesy car/bus should be available.

                      Cheers

That's correct Denlo's and Chatswood Classic are both owned by Inchcape... BUT they are operated independently by managers etc.. Inchcape many years ago were the importers for VW until VAG set up VGA here though thru complicated arrangements Inchcape were allowed to keep dealerships and still have their fingers in the importing of cars into australia. if you really want to put a red hot poker up them I'd suggest you ring VW Australia first thing and start complaining about what has happened.. guranteed it will be fixed by end of business that day as VW Aust. are known for not being all that friendly to their delear network esp if they are causing them some heat and discomfort.

                          They operate quite separately.
I was talking to Denlo about a car, but they couldnt get the one I wanted for 4 months.
Went to Chatswood, same day, and got it in 2 months.
So they don't share stock or forward orders.
They also have different pricing of the scheduled services (Denlo is cheaper though after the comments above I'm not sure if I really want to use them now.)

Red may be the devils colour, but this car is pure heaven

As far as I know all orders for vehicles are sent directly to VGA by each dealership. I do know that Denlo is cheaper for servicing but there is no way I'd let them even wash my car for fear of it being damaged!!! To me they have alot to learn about customer service for starters and the list just goes on from there. Maybe one day when they see their sales figures half of all other VW dealers they'll figure out what they are doing wrong... EVERYTHING!!!!!
