  • 2006 Jetta TFSI $35990

    Hi all,
I am looking to trade my 97 Golf Cl in for a Jetta Turbo FSI before their sales runs out at the end of the month. I am in QLD and can't seem to get one. I finally found one at VW on the sunnycoast. The Jetta has been used as a dealership car and it was offered to me for $35990 it is a 2006 model. It has done around 14000kms and the color is red spice with anthracitte velour trim.

    Vin WVWZZZ1KZ6M824058

Is this a reasonable price or should i try to knock it down.
    Any advice please.

The special deal rate (up to Dec. 31) for a brand new TFSI is $39,990. You might save four grand but you get a one year older car with 14,000 km on the clock.

It doesn't look like a great deal. Unless, of course, they're offering heaps for your trade in. Then you can only judge the deal by the changeover price.

A switched on SEQ dealer (there is one - pm me) should be able to source a car from interstate and get it delivered to you by the end of the year.

think of the continual abuse and suffering that car has gone through in its short life of 14000km... if i was you id skimp on a few extras and buy a brand new one... or at least find a dealer demo with less km's. but if you go for that one, haggle it down

          Got a brand new Jetta

I went back yesterday afternoon, and did bargain with them. It turned out that a brand new Jetta was available. It was supposed to be $39990 but
the dealer could do better, gave me a good trade in on the Golf. Through in floormats, and a few bits and pieces. Even got a pen.
The fun started that I wanted to take it home today, as it is a long way from the sunny coast to Hervey Bay 180km one way and just didn't want to go home and then turn around and go back also had to be back at work. They said oh we can't put the rego through this afternoon. Why not? To many other cars to put through. It went forward and back bargaining by 5pm I said well we have to let the deal go. I want my deposit back and i will buy a Lancer in Hervey Bay. Poor dealer got going. Within an hour the Jetta was registered.
We were out of there by 7.00pm. He was other wise quite good, done all what he could compared to first dealer who tried to sell us the red Jetta.
Photos will follow was to dark to take any.

congrats mate, i love jettas, beautiful cars. I think you did good not buying the dealership car. I used to sell cars and we used to drive them like mad. you dont care when the car is not yours and its covered by warranty.
Dealers are lazy, its good you got them to register it straight away
Good job mate, enjoy your new car!
