Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MKV Climate Control AUTO Button

    Guys,

I think my Climate control is broken??

I seem to recall in the past, when i pressed AUTO the temp automatically adjusted to 22 but now it just stays on the same temp you've selected and increases FAN speed?

What does yours do when you press AUTO?

Should i take it to the dealer?

In mine the auto button turns on full automatic control of the air con, to try to get the car to the set temp.
It doesn't actually change the temp setting.

Red may be the devils colour, but this car is pure heaven

auto just means that it will do what it has to to get to the temp u specify. So yeah it puts the fan on full on a really hot day when u first get in the car. as the car cools down it reduces the fan speed automagicly
