  • Naughty radio in GTI

If I turn the key on and start the engine straight away in the mornings, the radio fizzes for a second when it comes on, but if I turn on the ignition and wait till the radio comes on before starting the engine, it doesn't.

Does anyone else have this happening to their radio.

P.S. I know it's minor and pathetic, but hey...I'm bored.
I'm not Bossy!!! I just know whats best for everyone.

Mine doesn't do anything like that.
There was a software update for the radios, though I don't remember what it fixed other than a base flare problem.

Mine does the same, makes a crackling noise, whether you're in CD or Radio mode. It does go away though, and the radio works fine.

Mine makes a crackling sound and then a faint clicking sound from left side. The clicking keeps on going for about 30 seconds after I turn the radio / ignition off. They have replaced tweeter and that didn't fix it - I am having it checked out again.

            Any ideas?

I get the same. Also get a little boom out of it.
