Mine has recently arrived, and i tracked it, so FWIW, my car was on a ship that left Bremerhaven 4/10/07 a few stops along the way (none of which were in SA) and it arrived here in Melbourne 4/11/07, ie 1 month to the day. I am told i will be recieving the car from the dealer next week, on Thursday 22/11, so clearance and preparation for delivery has taken 2 1/2 weeks. The trip from SA should only be about 2 weeks on the water i s'pose (no idea really, just a guess)

PS if you go back to the WW web page where you have the voyage details, and click on the voyage number, it lists what ports the ship has been to/is expected at, and when. Also, a can tell you that it lists Asian Chorus as having left Port of Melbourne last Tuesday. I can see where the RoRo ships dock in Melbourne from out my office window, and i did see that ship! ( I have become somewhat of a shipspotter whilst wait for my car to arrive....I hope this passes, b/c its pretty nerdy)

The shipping dates are not cast in concrete.

Weather conditions en route can cost up to a day, especially at Port Elizabeth. If the ship cannot get into the harbour they will divert it direct to Durban then backtrack to Port Elizabeth.

My car was delayed by a day at PE due to the above then another day getting from Melbourne to Sydney because of the weather that hit when the Pasha Bulker went aground.

Eventually arrived Sydney, two days later than scheduled.

You can also check the shipping movements in and out of port by going to the various Port authority web sites and if you time it right can even see the boat in port on the web cams !!! ie. if you've got nothing better to do !!!!!

you'll definitely have to take me for a spin in that polo gti when it gets chipped (yes i'm assuming your getting it chipped ). only 2 weeks left (i've been waiting since before the dealer knew a gt sport existed - thanks to ben (phaeton) for that one, so 2 more weeks isnt going to kill me.

havent seen the mk2 since the other day, i think the engine will be coming out to paint the engine bay, fix the bumper mount and quarter panel and fix up any rust before any grilles go on the thing

                      yep not far now finally.

ive had it on order for a while now... cant recall exactly... but at least since the start of october. the dealer had no idea what a gt sport was when i called him, and i ended up telling him all about the car, i was the first at that dealer to order one at least. i guess lots of people want leather or sunroof or dsg, not many completely base models like i do :S

8 months... god thats a long wait i cant imagine that
