And the specs on both? You need to compare both Cold Cranking Amps (how much it puts out when starting) & Ampere Hour Capacity (reserve capacity I'd guess you'd describe it as) plus if it's maintenance free, calcium, etc.

From my experience of NRMA batteries (Dad has had several because they "are convenient"), they last just a bit longer than the warranty. But YMMV.

I know it sounds dumb, but I'd rather spend $400 every 4 years than $200 every 2 years.

If you are in Melbourne and are looking for a Varta battery stockist, Car Parts Connexion in Dandenong might be a good place to ask.
      I got a Silver Line Varta (E44) for $205.00
Ask to speak with Evan and he'll help you out.

I get annoyed, when the battery in my car doesn't last at leat 4 years. I've replaced Varta in our 08 Touareg with Bosch S4 battery (because I stock them).
The Vartas are good but, I feel also confident using Bosch or Century batteries.

Check the production date if you get Varta or other less commonly used battery, since they don't have to be the fast moving stock and could age on the shelves before someone buys them.

As Brad mentione;d clean the battery terminals before you fit the new battery. I use baking soda disolved in hot water to neutralise the battery accid, not just on the terminals but also around the battery. Make sure you do it somewhere safe and catch the run off, since the accid contaminated water will ruin your floor if not neutral enough (use lots of baking soda).
Thanks Guys, all very good info, i'm in the provinces so it seems my options are Century at $209 2yr warranty 600cca(?) or Supercharge i think it is which is 660cca around $200 not in stock 3 yr warranty, think i will wait and go the Supercharge gold.Funny but,the outlet tested my battery and said it tested at 575cca and looked ok, but the test may mean nothing?!

We used to do a load test - it wasn't very good as it even showed new batteries as being stuffed. LOL

Perhaps consider the Silver Dynamic from Varta?
The mob i got it from do have a shop in Morwell.
              780CCA + 3 year warranty for $205.00 I reckon it's a great deal.
