Have you tried the dsg? I wouldn't rule it out until you have.

I tried both and much preferred the dsg with the characteristics of the diesel engine. 75+% of them out there will be dsg's...

Stick with manual. One less thing to go wrong and cheaper to fix if it does, especially considering the factory warranty is probably gone.

Though if you end up liking the DSG, go for it.

Fluid change for a DSG is around $400 every 60 000 km.

yeh i love the thrill of manual more auto is just boring..

also forgot before i was thinking of ERG not DPF sorry.
i know its probs a stupid question but i dont like alot about the TDI faults.
i remember someone saying ERG is bad but what does it do and whats wrong with it and how do i fix or get rid of it (costs aswell if possible.)

I've had manual cars in the past (WRX STI 6-Speed) and I think the DSG is awesome. You can be lazy and just leave it in D or switch over to M and change gears quicker than you could in any manual. As for faults if you maintain your diesel it will outlast the petrol equivalent over and over and over again.

I wouldn't worry too much about EGR, get it turned down if you get a tune or EGR delete. Stick in a Provent200 while you're at it and voila.

Provent200 is roughly a couple of hundred. Fitment can be a bit of a pain due its size. But many have done it.

Voila doesn't cost a thing, it's just a saying like presto or Bob's your uncle.
