  • Almost time to celebrate!

Well after 1 month already of my wait there is now only about 8 days to go, but who's counting, before my R32 arrives in Melbourne. Even before it gets here it would have travelled half the globe starting from Bremen Germany and taking a pit stop in South Africa on the way.

Does anyone know what the usual wait times are to clear customs and for dealership prep?

My car arrived on the docks 19th October. Till now... 3rd Nov.. 15 days later still no word from the dealer about when it'll arrive at the dealership.

Usually it takes about 2 weeks for compliance and customs work.

from memory mine was unloaded at the docks on the 10th, at the dealer by the 20th and in my driveway on the 26th.
One thing to remember is that when a shipment of cars comes in there are likely to be hundreds of other cars on the same shipment. So it does take time for them all to be processed.

Finally got the call today, after ordering on the 14th July my Jetta will finally be ready next week.

Unfortunately I will be in Wellington for work all next week and cannot pick the car up until Saturday 17th after getting home late the night before.

At least I will have all weekend to enjoy the car.
