    Why can't this be standard?

if they made it standard now then they would have nothing to change on the run out facelifted models

Can I be rude and ask how much this set you back? I really, really want to do this to my Polo GTI, just haven't got around to it.

These pics could be just the motivation I need to finally get it done. Looks "finished" now - great decision.

I assume it involves a fair bit of prep. work to get the plastic flat before painting?

It's roughly $150/piece, which means it would be cheaper if you are leaving the centres stock black. Make sure you request them to sand down (totally sand down) the patterns/texture on the stock parts, but it might cost you extra bucks. Otherwise it will look really shxx!!! (I do have a few spots on mine, luckily on invisible edges)

I guess if anyone here is going do it and leave the centres black. It's better to be sand down and paint over in black again. The stock texture does not match at all.

Nah, sorry, colour-coding just ruins it for me, I'm afraid. Those sill panels are gonna get smashed with stone chips in no time.

My sills have been painted for 2 years now and still arent marked. Tar was my only hassle a couple of months ago but it all cleaned off in no time.
