  • Help with melted intake hose nub?

Hi. Saw this today. I tried to take the hose off and it appears that the plastic nub has melted and the hose is now swinging free. What is this? Is the car drivable? Would this be considered a warranty issue (or will dealer try to deny claim)??

Car is a 2007 Golf GT 1.4L Supercharged Turbo (Australian model)

    Thanks,

looks like someone has snapped it off (probably your mechanic) and glued it back on. Nows its come off again.

Crikey! I had a look and its definately not oil residue - some kind of epoxy. I don't want to name names, but the mechanic is a well known and often raved about independent Sydney mechanic. I'll give him a ring tomorrow and hope he will offer to make it right and report back.

^^ This! Likely hoping that because it's under the engine cover the customer hopefully won't see it. Poor form whoever it was
