Hi-flow filter MKV GTI

Hi all
Thinking of putting a K&N typhoon kit on my MKV GTI, are they street legal in Vic. Also what other recommendations do you all suggest for a filter

ive got one of these.. nice little kit, however if i remember correctly, no oil based pod filters are street legal in vic.
