  • 60K Service - Technical Data

Would anyone have or be able to get their hands on a copy of what VW officially include in the 60K service for a MkV Golf GTI with DSG.

Ive searched a few places but have had lots of conflicting information, hence the search for something official.

Any info at all would be VERY usefull.

    Thanks

    Hi Simon,

Doesn't the owners handbook list what is included with each service?

The handbook lists the "fluffy" version.

There is a tech document checklist that VW (other mechanics too) use for this sort of thing, more detail etc

Not sure what its officially called though.

I'd be interested to see a "defluffed" version if there is one! LOL

Not sure what US is like compared to here, but I have 2 concerns with my Service that was done at 60k through a dealership. Apparently (After talking to my regular servicing Mechanic, not a dealer) spark plugs shouldnt have been done, they should be done at 90k and it seems the DSG fluids were never changed. I have read that there were some claims (by VW) that DSG had lifetime fluids and didnt need to be changed and now they have retracted that and should be changed at 60,000 kms.

Im due for my 90k service and am trying to figure out WTF needs doing....will be going to see the dealership service centre tommorow

Im presented with the issue of a VW dealership not servicing a VERY expensive component correctly...Joy!!!!

So thats why im looking for something official to give me some ammo. That way i can figure out what else they did wrong in that service.

Yeah...totally...thats why im concerned, however i have a tax invoice saying that nothing was done to DSG, so will see what the response is from them...it will be hostile im sure

OK so i have a problem....and am getting the run around by various service centres..(wont name names yet)...

The place where i got my 60k service are saying that there is no work required on the DSG box, no Transmission fluid replacement, nothing....its a lifetime box. (WTF?? )

Another VW service centre have told me that the DSG service should be done at 60 or 90k depending on conditions...(WTF?? )

I know of at least one other person that has had the DSG service at 60k yet i didnt.

I need to find out what is actually(officially) supposed to be done at that service....these guys are really starting to get under my skin and im concerned for my gearbox now. Any help would be great...

                    Cheers

                    Simon

I too have had differing answers to my technical questions about my Jetta. Ask 3 different dealers and get 3 different answers.
Solution, log into erWin at this site, and buy online access to VWs own maintenance manula for your car and then you will know more than the dealer. The Jetta maintenance manual I bought was only 27 euro.

that sounds like the go if its only 30 bucks. it sounds like the trouble you're having is theres not many mkv's around that have done that kind of mileage (45000 per year christ you must live in that thing lol)

so im guessing people in your situation are having their cars used as guinea pigs for the apprentices to learn on before the flood of cars doing the usual 15k per year come through for their 60 and 90k services

looks like you're gonna have to take charge and tell them what needs to be done.
