  • My ship finally comes in.

    After 4 months 2 weeks and 3 days,(who's counting).
delivery will occur this Friday if everything goes to plan.

Have known about this a few days but still not excited.
I think because of the time factor, and almost having one
in my hands back in June only to be lost to someone else.

This will be my first VW and it better be good.

    Neil.

I can relate to your frustration Neil having had a similar experience myself, (the car allocated to me disappeared off the face of the earth) never to be seen again! Aliens maybe?

Rest assured the wait will be worthwhile.

    Cheers

      Hey Neil,

Good to hear that you're finally getting your car.
      That's a pretty long wait.
Waiting for a call from my dealer as well. Should be any day now.

      All the best mate!

Ditto on a long awaited Jetta almost being available.

I have been told by my dealer my car is not only in the country, but in the Port of Melbourne less than 10km from my home. Just waiting to come through customs.

        All patience is gone!

Which dealer did you buy the car from?
Funnily enough, that's the same reason that my dealer gave me.
It's up to 'Patrick' to bring it through customs and deliver the car to the dealer.

Auto Patricks are being a bunch of pricks at the moment too.

I have had about 6 customers torch me over the phone today demanding to know why there car is taking soo long.

A week ago i had said the car arrived into australia.... but for some reason Patricks are having major delays, one car in particular has been sitting there for two and a half weeks and STILL no movement.

I bought from Essendon Volkswagen, but I suspect all dealers in Melbourne are in the same boat (pun intended!)

What I'm baffled by is how quickly jb747 got his R32 to the dealer off the same ship as mine whilst the jettas are taking ages.
Guess the R32s are faster in every respect haha

I guess it does take time to compliance every single car that comes off the ship, but the wait is agonsing.

                    Red,

klosters will get their allocated stock just as fast as everyone else.

                    Its Autopatricks holding everyone up.

Rest assured guys, its just as frustrating for the dealership as it is for the waiting customer.

The sooner you pick up the car, the happier you are, the sooner you pick up your car, the sooner we are paid.

                      Yeah wharfies love the R32's.
They take them off first as they have an empty wharf to do there high speed
                      trials and burnouts.
You can't do that with a wharf full of Jetta's.Thats why the R32's end up at
the front of the line and get transported first..
                      hehe.
                      Neil.

well neil, once you pick up your car we'd love to see some pics of it.
U're one the lucky ones getting it early from this shipment..... however I am aware of the fact that u have been waiting for a wee while longer than any of us other dubbers.

Chances are, since it's an R32, it'll get to u before the previous batch of Jettas get to us haha

Which dealership in melbourne did u buy it from?
