I need help for Amp installation on mk5

Hey i was wondering if someone can help me and give me some tip for hooking up the amp and where to run the wieres

to hook up the amp it mainly cosists of ( well in a normal car with a normal headunit dont know if the factory rcdxxx in your mk5 has rca outs )
1) power cable goes straight from the battery +ve to the amp's positive inlet with a fuse somewhere
2)-ve or ground which goes from the amp outlet to the car body ( anywhere steel with a good ground connection will do )
3) 2 rca cables witch go from the headunit to the amplifier itself
4) a remote wire going from the headunit to the amp to tell it when to turn on and off
and lastly the 2 wires going from the amp to the actual subwoofer itself

you can hide the cables by taking off the plastic trims around the footwells and hiding them under the carpet hope this helps ive tried to make it as clear as possible dont be afraid to ask

Well I kno the basic stuff and where everything gonna go but I'm not sure where can I run my cable from so I dont have to make a hole trough anything

My main problem is running the 12v power from battery to somewhere inside

I just installed a sub in my MkV R32.... Firstly, does your sub have a built in Hi/Lo converter?

To run the power you can fit it through the hole in the firewall where all of the other electronics come through. There are plenty of write ups and DIYs on the net if you search for them. It is best to run it along the left side kicker panel and then up through the left side moudling near the back seat. Just make sure there is plenty of spare cable as it is easier to make it too long then trim rather than too short to begin with.

If your amp has the hi/lo converters you won't need to have an aftermarket ho/lo converter and can simple tap into the speaker wires coming from the back of the HU and run them to the amp. For the remote turn on you can tap into the 12V socket in the boot of the car. You want to tap into the red wire with the black stripe which is the negative.

Ensure that you keep the battery disconnected through all of this though as I didn't and blew my 12V accessories fuse and spent ages trying to figure out what was wrong.

Also remember to make your grounding wire as short as possible... mine was intially long and was causing the amp to turn on and off randomly. The shorter the better is what they say!

I alrdy have the wire Nd converter from my last car

So just find the firewall
Nd find a way to bring it inside


I didn't get what should I do for the remote part ?

And another question

Do u think I should buy a another battery Nd wire it to other battery or use capacitor

Cuz I'm pretty sure the normal battery won't be able to keep up with 2 amp

If you pull up the rain tray in the bonnet, on each side behind, there's a foam plug.

That's a tube that goes down into the foot well. I pierced it with a coat hanger and wires taped to it. That way you keep it water tight.

Much better than going through the firewall in the middle of the dash.

Here you go mate, I used this to find the gromit to run the power wire from the battery. Note I had to take out my battery to fit in there:
