  • Servicing Costs

One more quick question I had.....

This is my first Dub, mates of mine have had them for years and they have been bullet proof (touch wood)....

Was wondering what sort of servicing costs I will be looking at for my R32?

Was wondering if someone who has had recent services to post a guide as to what to expect to pay for both minor and major services?

BTW mine will be a 6SPD manual so no DSG servicing. Have heard a few things about maintenance costs with DSG plus I couldnt wait to get back to a proper manual.

    Cheers! (and thanks!)

      For a GTI DSG

I would not expect to get a 120k service

      for under $1,600

My guess people in the country around that price

Peope in the city would be around $1800-2000 easily

For an R32 they are chain driven so probably more around the
      $900 - $1300 mark

        Howdi,

Yeah thats what I have heard about the DSG servicing costs - although it wasn't really the thing that made me decide on a 6pd manual.

My last car had the paddle shifter (i know it wasn't a DSG but paddles are paddles i guess) and the novelty wore off after a year and I couldnt wait to get back to a clutch. My partners car is a 3MPS and was always a fight to grab the mazda keys in the morning! hehe

Having said that - have driven the DSG and it really is an awesome bit of machinery....

          DSG replacement cost

Something is actually mentioned in another recent thread on this forum about DSG replacement.

Total replacement costing in the vicinity of 15k. Scary figure if you didnt have an extended warranty.

I am putting mine in for a 1,500km oil change tomorrow at the new local dealership. (Its actually up to 2,500 - but figure its better late than never).

I was quoted $140 + $20 if I wanted the filter changed as well. Figure that's better than $180 at another dealership further away.

Turns out the $160 quote I was given excluded labour (went up over $210), whereas the $180 quote included the labour. Still, they gave in without much hassle, but it pays to shop around.

It would be interesting to know how many of these failed DSG's had performance chip fitted?
