  • 60,000 km Service

First, I'm extremely happy about the recent MY06 Golf GTi I purchased. Absolute blast to drive.

The only downside is it's the dreaded 60,000 km service that is coming up. I have called a few places so far and it seems to range from just over $1000 to just under $1500. Obviously this is because of the DSG gearbox.

Out of curiosity, is there anyone that anyone here recommends?

    Thanks.

Mike Weber and his team are what I use for all my servicing. I think they charge approximately $1050 for the MKV 60k km service

Jimmy @ Alba European will do you better + with better service and more experience

Price could have changed but my old invoice from last year for 60k + DSG was around $800.

I own a 2010 Jetta 103TDI and that's due for a 60000 service too. I rang my dealer (Essendon Volkswagen) and they quoted my $1300. Really reluctant to hand over that much for a service. Is it worth ringing around to other Volkswagen dealers?

If you're going to shop around, you might as well go for an independent specialist, they'll generally do a better job for less. The only reason I can think of for sticking to a dealer is if you're paranoid about things breaking outside of warranty and you're afraid you will lessen your chances of the dealer fixing it under goodwill.

Try Volkspower. Just had mine done and I think I paid around $1100. Great mob and you are not getting your car serviced by a 15 year old who has nfi.

So, you got a 1L of engine oil for your top ups? Was that incl. brake fluid, diesel filter, air and cabin filters?

                              Not bad at all.

They're clearly buying that Liqui Moly oil by the tanker load to get it down to that price!
