  • Service book doesnt go past 150k??

    Hi Guys,

I am almost at 130k and so I want to get my MKV GTI serviced, I just had a look at my log books and noticed in my service book there will only be 1 spare service interval (stamp) space once this service has been completed. Does VW assume that no one records servicing after 150k? I usually keep cars till 200k and this is the first time I have ran out of space in my service schedule.

Is it possible to buy another log book? I think it will cause suspicion having 2 books.

    Cheers,
    Jesse

VW will sell you one I am sure, just continue into that. Get the dealer to stamp both books with the service at 150k same date/mileage etc and it'll be obvious what's going on.

Every time you get your car serviced you get a receipt with your cars details on it. Just keep the receipts as proof of service.

It is unreasonable for VW to expect their cars to last beyond 150 000 km, hence the addition of more entries in the service logbook is redundant.

Thanks for the responses, just found it a little odd as this is the newest car I have owned yet the first to have not enough log book entry space.

Did you buy another log book? or did you just stop using one all together?

There's usually a couple of pages at the back for nondescript servicing. Maybe use those.
