Go the fuel pump kryton!! Lose that body part quick smart mate!!!
did mine last week., not the body bit, the pump!!
Makes a difference and with todays temperature down to 10 degrees my drive home will be great!!
Andrew
Yeah I'm looking forward to the Pirelli's first winter! Except all the bloody road grime combined with brake dust isn't a good look.
Damn Maguairs only selling quick detailer in small bottles. I go through litres of the stuff!
The upgraded pump will be interesting. There's a few flatspots I've noticed, particularly in 2nd and 3rd gear where I suspect the car might be leaning out a bit (not sure).. The pump might fix that, particularly since I know some remapping has been done recently.
Any goss on this Guy? Was the remapping done for the new fuel pump, or the OEM pump? (or both?)
Oh yeah another thing... everything im reading online talks of 91, 93 and 100 octane maps... what about 95 & 98 for us?
Thats american octane ratings your talking about there..
91us = 95 aus
93us = 98 aus
100us = c16 (race fuel) i think the oct rating is >110
Also another thumbs up here to guy for great service and advice, even when its beyond the call of duty. Still waiting for that sale guy and There will be a FMIC on order
Aaah thanks for that, learn something new every day!
Im still getting used to the whole 'one size fits all' deal with these APR maps. Not all engines are created equal so I would have thought there would be some scope for fine tuning... Does the ECU learn and adapt?
Sorry for going OT on this thread, but it was dead anyway...

These are dubs, they're all created equal within a very very small degree.
Engines are built by robots, but still the whole thing works in a closed loop system which does have a lot of room for adaptation.
man I gotta get a GTI!
Main Dub: 2010 Crafter Hanover Bus
1956 Type 1
2015 vRS wagon black on black
In regards to your question, I have some first-hand experience with APR software and buying non-APR products. So here's my 2 cents
I got the GTI Stage 1 software done middle of last year, and later got cold air intake, and just a couple of weeks back I got a TBE (non-APR) and Forge DV. I got Mike (Prestige & Performance) to fit it all, and he charged me for the labour of getting the Stage 2 software uploaded. As previously said by Guy in another thread, mechanics usually charge around 45mins of labour for this.
I still to date cannot compare any other company's customer service to that of APR and HP
