Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Probably not a lot that he can do himself immediately. Maybe just leave the bonnet open in the sun in an attempt to dry things out as quickly as possible.2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG

OK as both of us are new to VW cars, a question does it need a special parking bulb or any bulb from Super cheap etc is good, also is there a way to change the bulb, he is saying there is no access to it.
PS the MFD is now displaying the Right parking bulb is not working

No special bulb needed, unless it's an LED one.
You can access the rear lights from the inside of the boot. The felt lining covers the back of the lamps.
Pull the felt lining back, away from the lamps and you will be able to access the cables and connector and two plastic nuts. undo the connector and the nuts and the tail lamp will be able to be removed from the car from the outside. Then you can remove the lamp holder and replace the lamps.
It should be in the user's manual if that is in the car.

I actually had a look at mine and its pretty difficult to get a hand to. Once we do, do we just yank it back or is there a clip or some thing???
EDIT
SOrry just read through the whole post and realized the RAC post I have written Break light. Its just what he said and I quoted him right off via the mobile. I have stated later that its the parking light in the front. So some advice any one??Last edited by sn809; 26-02-2012, 07:25 PM.

I haven't had to change them with the headlights still on the car so I don't know how tight the room is, but it's pretty straightforward. Assuming you have factory halogens, the parkers are right next to the high beams, wedged in the reflector. Pull off the rubber cover behind the high beams, you'll see the two wires leading to the parker light itself, just reach in with your fingers or pliers and pull them right out. Then pull the bulb itself out of the plastic housing, and take it to your nearest Repco / Supercheap and they'll sort you out.TR 08 Golf GT TDI, Custom Code Phase 1, Milltek Exhaust, Whiteline RSB + ALK, APR Carbonio Intake
